Wal-Mart Haul

Well hello!  Hope everybody is enjoying their summer or what is left of it.  As much as I would love to buy all the things from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, right now we just don't have the money to do that.  Plus, all the stuff seems so fancy and all I do these days is either camp out at our kitchen island doing school work or go to the coffee shop to do school work when I start to go stir crazy.  And because it's summer, my sleep schedule is completely out of whack thanks to my two night owls.  😂😂😂 So...I really have no need for fancy schmancy clothes.  Plus I've been able to find alternatives for what I would have bought on Nordstrom Rack or Amazon.  Surprisingly, I've been buying a lot of things that are conducive to lounging around at home, the coffee shop or bed from Wal-Mart lately.  I haven't bought clothes from Wal-Mart since my insomniac days my freshman year at Texas State.  I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised by some of the items I have been able to find and I thought I would do a post of some of the items I've picked up from Wal-Mart lately.

So without further adieu, first up is this Time and Tru knotted maxi dress that I saw in store a few weeks ago.  But they were sold out in my size.  I checked their website for availability from my phone but they were sold out.  So I saved the item on the Shoptagr app and as soon as I got notification it was in stock, I ordered it.  When I saw it in store on the hanger, I was a little doubtful that it would fit.  It looked like a sack but that could just be because I was looking at a size medium.  I was able to order my normal size small and it was the perfect length for my short self (5'), the material is super soft and it's lined.  I may or may not have saved the dress in other colors in Shoptagr.  I'm hoping to eventually score one in black.

Next up, are these Time and Tru slip on sneakers.  I have been wanting some leopard slip on sneakers for a while now but didn't want to spend a lot of money on them because I see as being more of a trendy item than a staple.  So when I saw these at Wal-Mart for only $15, I thought they would be perfect to wear for a season or two and I move onto a new shoe 'need'.  They are super comfy because they are made with memory foam which feel like heaven on my funky, flat, old lady feet.

I love that I can wear them now and I can throw them on with some leggings in the fall and winter.

Last but not least, I finally caved and bought a 38mm Apple Watch 3.

Back in January, I bought a used Fitbit Blaze on my neighborhood's buy/sell page to track my runs and to see if I would like a wearable without having to spend a ton of money.  Come to find out, I did really like having a fitness watch because it helped keep me motivated to exercise.  So imagine my surprise when I was running the Austin Half Marathon in February and realized 5 miles into the race, that the thing had died fter charging it overnight.  After the race, I talked with Fitbit customer support and they told me it was no longer under warranty.  I went a few months without a fitness watch until Amazon Prime Day was upon us.  Amazon had the GPS Apple Watch 3 for $169 but by the time I decided to buy it, they were sold out on Amazon.  Whomp...whomp...whomp.  But after a quick Google search, I was able to find them  in Space Gray for $199 at Wal-Mart.  So we went and picked it up.  I've had it a week and so far so good.  I've run with it using the Nike Run Club app because that is what I've used for years and I've also been playing around with the Strava app after some of my more hardcore running friends had suggested it.  I've also downloaded the Pandora and iHeartRadio apps but would love suggestions for any other cool apps.

I guess I need to add Wal-Mart to my growing list of places I shouldn't be allowed to go unsupervised.  Whoops!
