Weekly Outfit Roundup: 7/23-7/27

Being a stay-at-home-mom has meant I have a lot of spare time on my hand.  Spare time that I can use to resume blogging.  But being a stay at home mom also means not having as much expendable income to spend on things I wouldn't have thought twice about buying before.  So it's kind of a catch-22.  If I want something now, I have to assess my current closet.  Do I already have something similar?  Does it fit my current lifestyle?  Would it be a versatile piece?  Then based on the answers I pass or I buy the item.  Not buying stuff as often has made me shop within my own closet (and sometimes my mother-in-law's closet!) to come up with outfits.

AE Shorts (old similar here)
Merona Strap Sandals (Steve Madden version here)

I saw this tank top on Instagram and loved the way it was styled.  I wanted to buy all the colors but already had a similar tank top in black and a regular white t-shirt that could be styled similarly.  But I did not have a gray tank top and figured it would be worth picking up for $4.

Merona T-Shirt (similar here)
Born 'Aswan' Sandals (Love the braided version here!)

My mother-in-law had a rack of clothes that she was planning to take to a consignment shop but I saw this skort and asked if I could have it.  She said I could have whatever I wanted.  I grabbed this skort and another similar one.  I wore this outfit to go volunteer at my church clothes closet on Tuesday and it was the perfect pick because the air conditioner went out.  I'm not sure if you've heard but last week, the temperature hit 110.  So the temperature was uncomfortable but my outfit wasn't.

Ganni Peplum Top from Anthropologie (similar here)
Marc Fisher 'Pritty' Gladiator Sandals (Love these as an alternative!)

My husband the fashion critic says I look like Jane Jetson every time I wear this shirt.  I don't see it.  Ha.  One of these days, I should have him write a post with his fashion observations.  He may be as savage as Joan Rivers.  Only difference is that the poor guy has to be seen in public with me in some of my strange outfits.  #sorrynotsorry

Kendra Scott 'Nora' and 'Amanda' Necklaces in rock crystal (similar here)

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is still going on for another week and there are still a lot of cute items still available.  I didn't buy anything from the sale this year but I did find this flowy B.P. Peplum top from the sale section of the site for $9.90 and I thought it would be a great alternative to the basic t-shirt.   I can wear it as is or throw a cardigan over it once the weather starts cooling down...in February.  And ya'll know how much I love layering.

I hope ya'll had a great weekend and have a great week!
