New House: Bedroom Updates

I just logged into my Blogger account to check recent activity and realized that it's been a month since my last post.  Whoops.  I'll admit, it's been nice to not to have to think about outfits.  So since I don't have any new outfits to post, I figured I'd post some home decor updates I've done recently.  I've pretty much finished the living room, kitchen and dining area so it was only a matter of time before I moved on into the bedroom.

I loved the navy and fuchsia color palette that Rachel used to decorate her living room.  I found the Nina Chair in fuchsia from World Market but I couldn't convince Mr. Sentimental (*cough* J *cough*) to let me get rid of Nathan's glider or agree to a fuchsia chair.  So I finally settled on a fuchsia bench and some throw pillows to bring in the color I wanted.

You all know I love pattern mixing in my outfits.  So of course I had to continue the pattern mixing into my decor.  Ha.  I like that the patterns compliment each other without competing but aren't super busy.  I may eventually order a third large Euro sham but for now Nathan's checkerboard pillow occupies that space.  Trying to get him out of our bed has been a challenge.  That's a novel for another post.

Here's a closer look at the bench.  I love the color.  It's not a true purple but it's not a true fuchsia but I think that is why it works and why J is letting me keep it.  I think if it were pinker, he'd be making me send it back. Nathan already loves to use it to hop into our bed.  Nathan's fuzzy little friends all say Hi!  He sleeps with every single one of them.  Even my Popples.  Ha.

Next project for the bedroom is artwork.  I'm kind of particular about what goes over the bed.  I hate things over the nightstands.  I'm not a fan of collage walls over the bed.  I'm not a fan of pictures over the bed period.  I'm not a huge fan of generic prints that everybody orders off of Etsy or Amazon.  I want something more original.  Something that not everybody has.  So having J paint something is the best option I could come up with.  I think it'll be a fun project for us to work on together.  Plus I've been dying to paint something.  Brush.  Spray.  Roll.  Doesn't matter.  I just want to paint something.  Ha.  We'll see.  I've got a vision.  Hopefully we can translate that into some art.  We'll see and hopefully I'll be able to share it.  I'm off to bed.

  1. The updated bedroom looks amazing. My friend is also renovating his bathroom according to the latest style and trend. He has hired San Jose CA bathroom remodeling experts from Home Quality Remodeling. I will also update my bathroom soon to give it a better appearance and look.
