OOTD: Jinxed

Well as mentioned yesterday, I wore my new Gap Eyelet-Stripe Fit & Flare Dress.
Shoes: Steve Madden "Ravesh" Pumps (similar here)

Something looks a bit off but I can't quite put my finger on what it is.  I think the length of the sleeves plus the stripe eyelet detail up top make me look a little wider in the chest area.  Now maybe if I had some boobage that wouldn't be a huge deal but I don't.  So all the lines are just flat and go straight across.  Ha. I also think there's some extra fabric around the torso that can be taken in.  So I'll have to take it to my tailor and see what they can do.  I love the flowiness of the dress and it was only $23. So it would be worth spending some money to make sure it fits correctly.

As soon as I walked into the office this morning, the Aggie said it sure was brave of me to wear this dress.  Because Thursday's are always steak days down at the little BBQ hole down the highway from the office.  He jinxed me.  Because what did I go and do during lunch?  Dropped my fork and knife covered in steak grease onto my lap.  And if that wasn't crappy enough, I managed to also get steak grease in my eye.  Steak seasoning in the eye is no fun.  Ha.  At least I didn't spill his Big Red all over me.  Considering that the BBQ joint didn't have cup holders.  Of course.

In other news, this picture makes me realize I cannot do second day hair.  I would love to be able to skip a wash in order to not fry my hair but then I'm left with this limp, flat hair.  Plus J just thinks it's gross not to wash my hair with as much hair as I have.  Then again, he is the guy that washes his twice a day.  Ha.  Anybody have any tips on how to make second day hair actually look good?

  1. I think the dress is cute on you! I do agree that maybe with a couple of tailoring tweaks it could be that much better! I'm such a fan of eyelet, and I love that you did your nude heels with this!
RE: second day hair - do you use dry shampoo at all? That's definitely my saving grace - I've been using the Not Your Mother's version. And, I find that curling it on my second day is the best - or at least half up and half down. I definitely feel flatter if I just wear it straight and all the way down!

    1. Carylee, I was using Suave for the longest time but recently just stopped using anything all together because the Suave just didn't seem to be doing anything. But I had to run to HEB this morning to get Nathan some food for breakfast and lunch and finally found the Not Your Mother's Dry Shampoo. I've been looking for it forever. So glad I swung by the hair product section. So far so good with my curls today.
