OOTD: Cobalt and Poka dots

Sorry for being MIA.  I ran my third Austin Half Marathon on Sunday and have been trying to recover.  Recovery has been a little more difficult this year because my migraines seriously kicked my butt.  I could feel it coming a couple hours after I got home and I have a sneaking suspicion it's because I probably needed some protein after the race instead of the bagels and bananas they were handing out at the finish line.  But again, we waited to long to get out the door to go get some food and by the time we did, it was too late.  Two Immitrex and 14 hours of sleep left me with a migraine hangover on Monday and I still had to take another Immitrex and an Aleeve.  Good times.  I've had a slight headache since but nothing that I feel I need medication for.  You would think that after that much pain, I'd give up running.  Nope.  On Monday, in celebration of their 25th anniversary, the Austin Marathon was having a 25 hour early bird registration event.  So I went ahead and signed up for the full.  *Gulp*  Jason joked that next year I'll probably just need to go ahead and take the Immitrex before the race.  Which I replied was a great idea.  he stopped laughing and just started shaking his head.  And then commented that there's no point in asking IF I will run the race anymore.  Now we just have to ask HOW we plan to manage the pain after the race.  I've got 361 days to figure it out.  I'm sure we can think of something.  :)  Ha.

Now that I'm feeling human again, I decided to get dressed in something other than jeggings and a t-shirt.  One of my interwebz homies used this picture as her Pinspiration for her outfit on Tuesday.   So I thought I would try and put my own spin on the look.

Blazer: Target
Shirt: Old Navy
Skirt: Target
Shoes: Worthington JCP

I don't really know if my skirt is truly cobalt.  Maybe more of a royal blue I suppose.  But I love the color.  I was looking in my closet the other day and since moving to the new house have been trying to be diligent about keeping everything organized by color.  And I realized that I don't have a whole lot of color.  Majority of my wardrobe is: black, white, gray and royal blue.  I wonder why that is.  I guess I need to go buy some stuff in other colors.

I'm a 36 year old full-time student, runner and shopaholic (not necessarily in that order) mom living in the burbs surrounding the beautiful city of Austin with my husband, our very active 9 year old and our rescue dog Buddy. This blog is my little space of the internet where I let my ADD run loose and I blog about...anything.
