Modcloth Uniquely You Challenge

Happy Manic Monday everybody!  For once since the beginning of the school year, today was not as manic as Monday's of the past.  It only took me half the school year to get the whole Monday morning routine thing figured out.

Today is a repeat since I ran the Austin Half Marathon yesterday but feel free to check out how my friend Cary remixed a bright floral dress and Gina talks about style by astrological sign.  It was such a gorgeous day for a race.  Now that we think the cold weather is hopefully behind us, I can't help but start thinking of spring. When I think of spring I instantly think about all the dresses and skirts I can wear in the warmer weather.  I've always loved the vast selection of clothing and accessories that Modcloth has to offer so I was so excited to be invited to participate in their Uniquely You campaign. Modcloth stylists chose the BB Dakota Classic Stunner Dress  and challenged me to style it with up to seven  other items currently available on Modcloth using Polyvore.

Modcloth Uniquely You Polyvore Challenge

I love the feminine color and brocade pattern of this dress so I tried to keep the accessories to a minimum but I thought the As 'Fete' Would Have It Heels and the Chic to Chic Rosette Clutch complimented the girly feel of the dress perfectly but the Treasure Doing Business with You necklace gives kind of toughens up the look.  Who wouldn't be scared of a girl in a flowery dress if she's got a huge chain necklace around her neck.

If you've been reading this blog for a while, you know I love dresses.  I could spend hours (and lots of moola) perusing the dress selection that ModCloth offers but here are a few of my favorites.

Modcloth Night & Day

Night Out:  If you've been reading this blog for the last year, I have developed an OBSESSION with print mixing.  Polka dots and stripes?!?  SOLD!

Brunch:  You know you're going to need brunch after a night out in the first dress.  If I'm going to wear a solid colored dress, I try to add in some sort of texture to add some depth to the outfit.  I love the pleating in this skirt and I would feel like I was floating on air in this dress.

Date Night:  I take full advantage of being able to wear something girly and something totally kid unfriendly when J and I can escape from Nathan for a date night.  Nothing screams more kid unfriendly than ivory and lace.  :-)

Playdate:  Since I don't get to spend nearly as much time with Nathan as J does during the week, I try to coordinate as many playdates as I can in a 48 hour weekend.  I can just throw this dress on whether our playdate is at a playground or somebody else's house and still feel put together.  Add a fedora and some oversized sunglasses and I'm good to go.

Now which one of these dresses should I order first?  Decisions decisions.  Hope ya'll have a fabulous week!

  1. Great dress choices. I don't own any maxi dresses currently but I love that striped one. I think that would get my vote since I think I would get the most use out of it. Thanks so much for the mention and for sharing your link with Manic Monday. :) -Gina

    1. I love maxi dresses even though I usually have to hem them a couple inches. The joys of being a shorty. :-) Glad to be a part of the link up this week. :-)
