OOTD: Manic Monday Link Up

Nathan's surgery on Thursday went well.  It was a little heartbreaking to hear him screaming for me as they carried him down the "Authorized Personal Only" hallway.  I had to turn away so he wouldn't see me tear up but I handed him to somebody who I hoped would remind him of me.  She was a sweet, little blonde who was wearing pink scrubs, a pink surgical cap and had on pink nail polish.  That's what I'd wear if I were working at a hospital with kids.  The procedure took 30 minutes and then he was in recovery with a nurse for another 20 before they rolled him back into the recovery area where we waited for him.  That was the longest hour of my life folks.  But when they rolled him back, there was no doubt that he was back.  As soon as the double doors to the recovery area swung open, we could hear him demanding a popsicle.  Somebody must have bribed him with a popsicle.  It wasn't me.  :-)

He stayed up long enough to eat his popsicle and then fell back asleep for another 3.5 hours thanks to codeine.  Once the meds wore off (or we woke him up) he was back to his old self and by bedtime, he was saying he wanted to go to school the next day.

Friday's outfit was a little bit of exhaustion plus casual Friday rolled into one.  For the first time in a long time, the last thing I wanted to think about was what to wear.  I was still exhausted from the stress of Nathan's surgery.

But today is the start of a new week and new(ish) outfits.  Plus I was invited by On the Daily Express and the lovely Carylee, the shopaholic behind the blog More Pieces of Me to participate in their Manic Monday link-up.  Nothing manic about today's outfit but I am loving the shirt.  I may or may not have reserved one in cocoon at another mall.  WHAT!  I don't have a shopping problem.  I don't have a shopping problem.  It was only $10.

    1. Holy crud. If there was one thing I wish he didn't have was my Asian firecracker temper. He tried to rip the IV out of his arm. Thanks for inviting me to participate in the link-up Cary!

  2. Aw, I'm so sorry your little guy had to have surgery. I have been there and it's such an emotionally draining experience. So glad he came out okay, though! Thanks so much for linking up with Manic Monday. Your polka dot vest is adorable, and I really like your glasses, too. :)
