OOTD: Lovebug

Happy Valentine's Day everybody!

Valentine's Day kind of started early for us because Nathan's class had their Valentine's Day party yesterday since he doesn't go to school on Thursdays.   The name of his class is the Lovebug class so when I saw this on Pinterest

I just knew I had to make them.

They came out a tad bit different because it wasn't until I got home that I realized that I bought the wrong size baggies.  Whoooops.  I don't think the kiddos were upset by this little oversight.  We had so much fun going through all his goodies when we got home.  It's so much fun watching him understand and get excited about holiday now that he's getting older.  He still talks about Halloween and Christmas and requests that we play Christmas music or go to the pumpkin patch.  J and I giggle as we try to explain to him that those holidays have passed but we've got plenty of other fun holidays coming up.

Today we had a very low key Valentine's day.  I of course, couldn't let Valentine's Day pass without pulling out my pink skirt.

J bought me some chocolate covered strawberries from our favorite local candy shop that I shared with Nathan.  This was his first and sadly last time he will get to enjoy these particular chocolate covered strawberries.  He had a couple of them and he immediately started turning red.  We thought it was a fluke because I gave Nathan one hours after his first strawberry earlier this afternoon but he still had the same peculiar reaction.  So we're going to err on the side of caution and just not give him any more of these strawberries.  The redness went away after an hour but it sure was scary seeing him turn beet red.  He was of course oblivious to the issue and was as happy as a clam shouting Happy Valentine's Day as he made his way around the room giving hugs to all of us.   Now I wonder how many months we'll have to listen to him talk about Valentine's Day.  My guess is two.  :-)
