OOTD: Easter Egg

I walked out of the house in this outfit totally confident in my outfit choice but by the time my co-worker and I returned from lunch with the civilized world (we don't get out often) I felt like a Weeble Wobble and even better, I felt like the colors made me look like an Easter egg.

Most days I can live with weird outfit but I was going to the Pregnancy and Postpartum Health Alliance of Texas' annual wine tasting social fundraiser.  So I was feeling a little self conscious about this outfit.  The skirt was wrinkled.  It was pulling on the sides because I ate way too much.  And again, I looked like an Easter egg.  So before I headed to the event I stopped by Nordstrom Rack. Within five minutes I was able to find this black, 3/4 sleeve, peplum dress.  That's more like it.  For $35 it was perfect.

Did you notice that there's a celebrity in this picture?  Jill, of Baby Rabies, came into town to come speak at the event about the importance of seeking help if you think you may suffer from postpartum depression and/or anxiety.  There is no shame in asking for help if you feel you may suffer with either of these conditions.  I am so glad that there is an organization that is so passionate about making sure moms get adequate treatment and the support they need.  If you would like more information about the Pregnancy and Postpartum Health Alliance of Texas, check out their website at http://www.pphatx.org/.
