OOTD: It's Friday?

In Austin, weekends usually kick off on Thursday and roll on until Monday morning.  While I did have to go to work today, I decided to dress a little more casual than usual.  Nathan woke up from a night terror in the middle of the night and so I wasn't up for putting in a lot of effort into my outfit today.  I wonder what the little guy dreams about because I can't imagine he's had a whole lot of life experiences in his life that would be scary.  He's always just been a happy little guy.

Chambray shirt: Old Navy, Shorts: Banana Republic, Flats, Necklace: Banana Republic

I had planned on wearing my trusty chambray shirt with my white pants a few months ago but I must have eaten too much ice cream because I couldn't zip them up.  So this is close enough.

So what do you have planned for the weekend?  Anything fun?

I'm hoping that Nathan and I can make it to his Gymboree class.  We haven't gone in about a month because they start at 9:15 and Nathan has been sleeping late the past few weeks.  I have a feeling that won't be the case tomorrow.  Then after Gymboree I'm going to take him to the splash park.  We met up with our friends there last week and he had a blast.

I think we'll be spending a lot of time there this summer.  Good thing Nathan tans like me and doesn't burn like J.  Ha.

I'm also hoping to do a DIY project that I found on the blog Tenth Avenue South.  Isn't that headboard gorgeous?  I love the look of that headboard but I could never justify spending the money for the Pottery Barn version.  Since I was a little girl, I always remember having a headboard.  We got a new mattress a few weeks ago and for the first time in my life, I don't have a headboard.  It feels WEIRD.  So hopefully this project will fix that weirdness and come out as awesome as the Tenth Avenue South's headboard.  Hopefully I don't lose any fingers in the process.  I've already made my stencil and just need to go get the materials.  Looks like I have a busy weekend ahead of me.  I better get movin'.  Toodles!

  1. Love this causal outfit and your Tom's. So cute!

  2. Thanks! I live in those TOMS when I'm not at work. So much easier to chase Nathan around in those than the heels. :-)
