Of course, no weekend would be complete without doing a little bit of shopping. You know how Stacey and Clinton constantly hark about the importance of a good bra? Well, I never listened but I have been reading rave reviews for a local place called Petticoat Fair here in Austin. So after having enough of my lumpy and oh so padded Victoria's Secret bra, Nathan and I ventured over to Petticoat Fair. The amount of stuff they have is phenomenal and they have so many brands and sizes to try on. And thank goodness for their knowledgable staff because seriously, a guy probably has more bra knowledge than me. I'm still trying to figure out how my whole life I've been wearing 32A (Yes. I just admitted my bra size.) but after a visit to Petticoat Affair I measured at a 30C/D? How in the world????
It's amazing how much better I look and feel with a properly fitted bra. Oh and I will never, NEVER, wear a bra with an underwire again. I feel just as supported and have just as much oomph as if I were wearing an underwire. Of course, I still opted for something with a smidge of padding. Ha. So ladies, if there's one thing to splurge on it is bras.
Then yesterday morning, I was getting ready to walk out the door for the Capital 10,000. If you're not from these parts, it's a very popular race that can bring out quite a few characters. It was going to be my first time running it since having Nathan but as I was brushing my teeth, I heard this horrible cough coming from our bedroom. I swung open the door to find Nathan coughing and crying in between coughs. Poor guy. The cough sounded familiar but just to be on the safe side, I decided not to run the race and we got him into urgent care to rule out bronchitis or any other respiratory infections. We were relieved that it was only croup and were given a prescription and sent on our way. So the rest of yesterday we stayed home and got some much needed rest.
So you could only imagine that with all that time at home, I had some outfits spinning through my head. This is one that I managed to prep last night.
Shirt: Banana Republic Outlet, Skirt: JCPenney, Shoes: Target
Perfect since I had to wake up early for a follow-up eye doc appointment. Fun times. If only I had left the house a little earlier because it was just my luck that there were two wrecks on my way there and for once I wasn't involved in them. Okay, now that I've written a novel, I better go do something productive. Tata!
