Why is it...?

That every time I go and injure myself I immediately want to work out more than I did before I got injured? Never fails. Unless you've been living under a rock, you might have heard that the Boston Marathon was going on yesterday. Reading about and seeing some of the images from the race just makes me want to run a marathon or at least a half.

But like I said, I injured myself yesterday. And I can't even say that it was during a workout. I was just walking down the hall to my office when my foot just rolled forward, throwing me to the ground. So it was no surprise that I was in some pain this morning. It probably didn't help that I decided I needed to go grocery shopping last night. So little man and I wandered around the grocery store for a good hour on my lame ankle. My ankle, leg and foot hurt in places I didn't even know were possible to hurt after such an ankle roll. This year has just been plagued with injuries. Maybe it's me being clumsy or maybe I'm just getting old and no longer know how to put one foot in front of the other. Maybe I should just give in and buy a Rascal. Jason would have been very happy with that idea while I was pregnant after I fell in front of Target but that's another story that I'll just spare you from reading about.

So while I'm bummed that I can't run for now, I'm still holding out hope that I can resume some low impact workouts at the gym by the end of the week. We'll see. I guess for now I can at least do some arm and core exercises.

I'm a 35 year old working, running and shopping (not necessarily in that order) mom living in the burbs surrounding the beautiful city of Austin with my husband, our very active 5 year old and our rescue dog Buddy. This blog is my little space of the internet where I let my ADD run loose and I blog about...anything.
