Let the party planning begin!

With less than four weeks until Nathan's first birthday, I have been feverishly trying to iron out details for Nathan's first birthday. I thought planning our wedding was hard. Boy was I wrong. Trying to plan Nathan's first birthday is starting to resemble wedding planning. I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. What I had envisioned as being an intimate celebration with close family and friends has morphed into a guest list that is already half of what our wedding list was but unlike the wedding, where the general rule is that only half show, it looks like the majority of the invitees will be attending Nathan's big day. It'll still be with close friends and family...just a LOT of close friends and family whom Jason and I hold near and dear to our hearts.

I originally wanted to host it at our house but Jason and quickly agreed that our house couldn't hold as many people as we were inviting. So then I started looking at possible venue locations. We knew we didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for the place. So I finally found the perfect location. We will be having Nathan's first birthday party at the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park.

Nathan loves being outdoors so I think he'll love it. He also loves trains. So imagine my excitement when I realized that Sophie the Train lives at the park. I can't wait to take Nathan for a ride on Sophie! As cheesy at it may seem, the theme for Nathan's first birthday party will be trains but that's all I'm tell ya. The rest of the details are top secret and you'll have to wait for party pictures to see how everything went. :-)

There's so much left to do but so little time to get it all done. Hopefully everything will come together and go smoothly and nothing derails his party. Get it? Derails? Yes I really did just make that cheesy joke. The only thing we're worried about is the weather. This week is supposed to be in the 70s. I'm hoping this weather holds up until the party but you just never know with Texas weather. It's so unpredictable.
