6 weeks and counting

Now that I think I've recovered from UT's loss at the Rose Bowl a few weeks ago (it takes a while for things to sink in sometimes) I figured it was time to post an update. I can't believe that in 6 weeks (if all goes according to plan) that we will be bringing Nathan home and the world as we know it will be completely different. We still have so much to do but it feels like we don't have enough time to do it all. We're just about done with the nursery. We had our shower a few weeks ago and got our bedding and some things to put on the wall. Here's the progress so far.

Toby seems to like the room now that it's not as cluttered as it once was when it was an office.

The rocker is Toby approved. I don't blame him. I'll go into the nursery and just sit there for the heck of it when I'm reading a book. Of course, it doesn't take Toby very long to come and try and cuddle with me when I'm sitting in the chair. He loves to curl around the bump. Comfy for him. Not so comfy for me as he tries to paw at my belly to make himself a little nest.

The popular decor trend for nurseries lately has been letters that spell out the baby's name. I liked the idea but I wanted something a little different than the ones you can buy at Babies R Us or at Michael's. Well, I got lucky. My friend Megan is a very crafty person and as my shower gift, she made these letters. The theme of the room is supposed to be Noah's Ark and so Megan decided to make the letters with animals that start with letter. I have to say, trying to find an animal that starts with the letter 'N' was a bit of a challenge. Ha. But I loved the way these animals turned out.

The shower itself was a lot of fun. I have such great friends and family that got us some very cute things and things that I've been told will help me maintain my sanity. Here are a few pictures that were taken with my camera.

This is Jennifer. She was one of my friends that hosted my shower. She is also pregnant and her and her husband are expecting a little boy too. She also happens to have the saem due date as me. I wonder who will pop first. I've been told that I look much bigger than her, so people predicted that Nathan would get here first.

This is an outfit that my aunt Vinetta and uncle Dick sent us from California. They have always sent really cool gifts in the past. The outfits they sent were very boutique-y and very California. I can't wait to dress him up in all the clothes.

As far as how I'm feeling...I'm still feeling pretty good. I'm still hungry as ever but I manage to get full faster now. I think I snack more now than I did in the first two trimesters though. I used to be able to make it through the days with breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack. Now I eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack and then midnight snack. My back has started hurting by the end of the day and I'm finding it's hard to hoist my butt and my belly up into the bed. Makes my 20 trips to the bathroom at night a major chore. I can say that the one thing I'm not liking about the third trimester is that I'm as tired as I was during the first. I'm back to the first trimester routine of collapsing back into my bed as soon as I get home. It feels so good but it's so hard to do since I know I have so much I still need to do. If only there were more hours in the day. At least today, I can say I'm somewhat productive despite already calling it a night. I did write this blog entry didn't I?

I'm a 35 year old working, running and shopping (not necessarily in that order) mom living in the burbs surrounding the beautiful city of Austin with my husband, our very active 5 year old and our rescue dog Buddy. This blog is my little space of the internet where I let my ADD run loose and I blog about...anything.
