Running update 05.13.09

So last night was the first time I ran since last Wednesday when I thought I was going to die from heat stroke or the lack of blood since donating blood last Monday. Last night's run wasn't my best but I was able to run/walk my normal 2.5 mile route without feeling like I was going to pass out. I did an easy run since I had already done a cardio workout on the elliptical at the gym. I'm trying not to overexert myself.

Now that I'm trying to train for a marathon I am trying to learn how to pace myself. No matter how hard I try to reduce my pace to an 12 minute mile to conserve energy for a 26.2 mile run, I always end up back to doing 11 minute miles. I can't figure out how to slow myself down. I guess it's back to the drawing board. I guess now that school is done until August, I have some time to do some reading on how to improve my training.

I'm a 35 year old working, running and shopping (not necessarily in that order) mom living in the burbs surrounding the beautiful city of Austin with my husband, our very active 5 year old and our rescue dog Buddy. This blog is my little space of the internet where I let my ADD run loose and I blog about...anything.
